Gesa Power House Theatre Piano An Evening with George Winston
Gesa Power House Theatre
$45
Gesa Power House Theatre presents “An Evening with George Winston” on Thursday, September 19 at 7:00 p.m. and on Friday, September 20 at 7:00 p.m. Celebrated pianist George Winston is undeniably a household name. He’s inspired fans and musicians alike with his singular solo acoustic piano songs for more than 40 years while selling 15 million albums. A tireless road warrior playing nearly 100 concerts annually, live performance for Winston is akin to breathing. Winston’s music is evocative, offering us all a chance to take a step back from our perpetually busy lives and let our minds adventurously wonder. George Winston’s classic albums, "Autumn" and "December," are perennial favorites, along with "Winter into Spring," "Summer," 2017’s "Spring Carousel – A Cancer Research Benefit," as well as two volumes of the compositions of Vince Guaraldi, two volumes of benefit albums for the Gulf Coast disasters, and six other solo piano albums. George Winston will release his 15th solo piano album, "Restless Wind," via Dancing Cat Records/RCA Records in May - a portrayal of Winston’s place in a chaotic world – his compositions extend solace with an idiosyncratic grace. Reserved seating tickets ($45) for this concert are available online or by calling the box office at 509-529-6500.

Gesa Power House Theatre Classic Rock Pigs on the Wing - Pink Floyd Tribute
Gesa Power House Theatre
$28 Adults; $25 Students
Pink Floyd tribute band Pigs on the Wing returns to Gesa Power House Theatre with a new concert experience on Friday, October 11 at 7:00 p.m. The concert will feature a full performance of Pink Floyd's 1977 album "Animals" and a second full set highlighting Pink Floyd's Roger Waters-era catalog. Tracing its roots to a one-off performance in Portland in 2006, Pigs on the Wing has steadily developed a reputation for delivering a high quality, high energy take on Pink Floyd's music steeped in the Northwest's own rich musical heritage. All of the members of the band are seasoned veterans of the original rock scene and balance a decidedly un-tribute like attitude towards the music with a deep understanding of the precision and importance of Pink Floyd's music in many fans' lives. The result is a sound and experience both refreshing in delivery and yet true to the original – something the band believes sets it apart from other Pink Floyd tributes. Pigs on the Wing has long considered "Animals" to be their defining experience of Floyd (not to mention the band's namesake) - and perhaps the album best suited to their own high energy take on Floyd's catalog. "Animals" is Pink Floyd at their heaviest and most epic, weaving complex progressive rock arrangements into a single conceptual vision unlike anything the band had done before. Fans can expect Pigs on the Wing to deliver a precise, hard-hitting, true-to-the-music performance of the classic 1977 Animals album melded seamlessly with Pigs on the Wing's trademark willingness to explore the improvisational side of Pink Floyd's music - and to let their own musical strengths guide the journey. In the spirit of Pink Floyd, Pigs on the Wing's "Animals 2019" tour features an immersive visual dimension including a spectacular redesigned light show and live projection mapping for a concert experience unlike any other. Reserved seating tickets ($28 Adults; $25 Students) are available online or by calling the box office at 509-529-6500.

Gesa Power House Theatre Latin Bluegrass Che Apalache
Gesa Power House Theatre
$35-$20
Gesa Power House Theatre presents Che Apalache in concert on Friday, October 18 at 7:00 p.m. Che Apalache is a four-man string band based in Buenos Aires with members from Argentina, Mexico and the United States. The group’s founder is Joe Troop (fiddle), a North Carolinian multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter and composer who moved to Argentina in 2010 and taught bluegrass music to make a living. He now performs with some of his most dedicated students: Pau Barjau on banjo, Franco Martino on guitar, and Martin Bobrik on mandolin. Che Apalache began as a bluegrass band, but eventually incorporated Latin American styles into their repertoire. Combining instrumental prowess with tight vocal harmonies, they have created an authentic blend of genres to reflect the nature of their lives. Evoking images from Appalachia to the Andes, their debut album, “Latingrass,” is a testament to a powerful cultural and musical exchange. In 2017, Che Apalache won first place in the category of Neo-Traditional Band at the prestigious Appalachian String Band Music Festival in West Virginia. Reserved seating tickets ($35-$30 Adults; $20 Students) are available online or by calling the box office at 509-529-6500.
