Gesa Power House Theatre rock Kate and the Crocodiles
Gesa Power House Theatre
$35
Kate & The Crocodiles will perform a concert at Gesa Power House Theatre on Saturday, September 15 at 7:00 p.m. Proceeds will benefit The Health Center. Kate & The Crocodiles are a Portland-based quartet who perform stunning indie rock originals and covers, early jazz and jazz standards, reinventions of ‘70s and ’80s rock as ballads, classical art songs mixed with rock (yes really), and other surprises from far and wide. If the spectrum sounds broad, it is all held together by a signature sound informed by classical training and a respectful blending of many genres. It’s like a warm conversation with a good friend—and at times, it’s like world-class music meets stand-up comedy because these fun four have what may be considered almost too much fun performing together. An evening with Kate & The Crocodiles is an intimate, unforgettable treasure. Reserved seating tickets ($35) are available online (www.phtww.com) or by calling the box office at 509-529-6500. A small number of VIP tables (for four people) are also available for $175 (includes a bottle of wine and stage-side seating). The Health Center delivers primary health and behavioral health care for all the students at Lincoln High School, Walla Walla High School, Pioneer Middle School, Blue Ridge Elementary, and HeadStart/ECEAP Preschool. Their mission is to advance the success of students by addressing their physical, emotional, and social needs.

Gesa Power House Theatre guitar, blues, country "Nashville Hurricane"
Gesa Power House Theatre
$35-25 Adult; $20 Student
Gesa Power House Theatre presents Chase Padgett in his one-man show “Nashville Hurricane” on Saturday, September 29 at 7:00 p.m. About 40 years ago, a mysterious acoustic guitarist appeared from nowhere, conquered the music industry, and vanished without a trace… until now. Chase Padgett becomes a manager, a mother, a mentor, and the guitar prodigy himself as each one tells their side of the rise, demise, and resurrection of the best guitar player you’ve never heard of: the Nashville Hurricane. During the course of this one man masterpiece the audience learns about Henry Waltrip (the Nashville Hurricane) from his humble trailer park beginnings with his mother, Brenda, to crazy gigs on the road with his blues-playing mentor, Tyrone. The stories and songs unfold into hilarious rants on love and music, a riveting tale involving the dark side of show biz, and blazing guitar work leading up to the finale: a one-man acoustic rendition of “Devil Went Down to Georgia.” Reserved seating tickets (Adults $35-$25; $20 Students) will go on sale to the public on Thursday, March 1, online (www.phtww.com) or by calling the box office at 509-529-6500.

Gesa Power House Theatre rock, psychedelic rock Pink Floyd Tribute - Pigs on the Wing
Gesa Power House Theatre
$28 Adults; $25 Students
Pink Floyd tribute band Pigs on the Wing will perform “Finding the Dark Side of the Moon” on Friday, October 12 at 7:00 p.m. at Gesa Power House Theatre. “Finding the Dark Side of the Moon” is a retrospective live concert experience culminating in a full performance of Pink Floyd’s 1973 concept album “The Dark Side of the Moon.” Since its formation in Portland in 2006, Pigs on the Wing has steadily developed a reputation for delivering a high quality, high energy take on Pink Floyd’s music. All of the members of the band are seasoned veterans of the original rock scene and balance a decidedly un-tribute like attitude towards the music with a deep understanding of the precision and importance of Pink Floyd in many fans’ lives. The result is a sound and experience both refreshing in delivery and yet true to the original – something the band believes sets it apart from other Pink Floyd tributes. Concertgoes can expect two full sets of Pink Floyd music – the first a loosely chronological retrospective of Pink Floyd’s work before becoming a household name; and the second a full performance of what many would argue is among rock music’s finest works from cover to cover, “The Dark Side of the Moon.” Pigs on the Wing is comprised of (L to R): Eric Welder (bass, vocals); Pete Galluzzo (sax); David Lindenbaum (guitar, vocals); Matt Jones (keys, vocals); Bryan Fairfield (drums); Keeley St. Clair (vocals, acoustic guitar); Jason Baker (guitar, vocals). Reserved seating tickets ($25 adults, $22 students; plus $3 ticket fee) are available online (www.phtww.com) or by calling the box office at 509-529-6500.

Gesa Power House Theatre Musical Theater Live Cinema: "Funny Girl" (musical)
Gesa Power House Theatre
$10-$18
Following its record-breaking, sell-out run in London’s West End and national tour, the critically-acclaimed musical Funny Girl comes to a cinema near you, featuring Sheridan Smith in “an unforgettable star turn” (The Times). Funny Girl is semi-biographical, based on the life and career of Broadway star, film actress and comedienne Fanny Brice (a role made famous by Barbara Streisand on Broadway and in the 1968 film adaptation), and her stormy relationship with entrepreneur and gambler Nick Arnstein (Darius Campbell). Hilarious, glorious, and “exhilarating” (The Independent), don’t miss this sensational production directed by Michael Mayer. Praised by critics as having “irresistible charm, wit and warmth” (Metro), and hailing Sheridan Smith as “the greatest star by far” (The Daily Telegraph), Funny Girl features a host of iconic and timeless musical numbers including “People,” “I’m the Greatest Star,” and “Don’t Rain On My Parade.” Reserved seating: $15 Adults, $10 Students (in advance); $18 Adults, $12 Students (at the door). Gesa Power House Theatre Americana, Folk, Country, Gospel EmiSunshine
Gesa Power House Theatre
$35-$30 Reserved Seating
Gesa Power House Theatre presents country music prodigy EmiSunshine in concert on Saturday, November 3 at 8:00 p.m. EmiSunshine, a 13-year-old East Tennessee prodigy, has already captured the nation’s attention as a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Steeped in Appalachian music, Emi is a true vocal stylist. Influenced by legends who have made history (Loretta Lynn/Tanya Tucker/The Louvin Brothers), Emi has taken the world by surprise with her ability to combine her youthful, bubbly disposition with deep, meaningful and sometimes dark and lonely song content. Bringing her imagination to life, Emi has been able to write and record her own music, cementing her reputation as a well-crafted storyteller. Since her break-out at 9 years old, this fearless performer has appeared on The Today Show, The Grand Ole Opry, and at The Ryman, and has more than 500,000 Facebook followers. While her music has been described as “old-timey," she adds her own unique blend of roots music that is equal parts Americana, bluegrass, gospel and country, with a sprinkling of the blues. Reserved seating tickets ($35-$30) will be available to the public on Sunday, April 1, online (www.phtww.com) or by calling the box office at 509-529-6500.
