Gesa Power House Theatre opera Live Cinema: "La boheme" (Royal Opera)
Gesa Power House Theatre
$15 Adults; $10 Students
The Live Cinema Series continues at Gesa Power House Theatre with a screening of The Royal Opera’s current production of "La bohème" on Wednesday, April 1 at 6:00 p.m. Puccini’s opera of young love in 19th-century Paris is packed with beautiful music, including lyrical arias, celebratory choruses for Act II’s evocation of Christmas Eve in the Latin Quarter and a poignant final scene over which the composer himself wept. Richard Jones’s character-led production perfectly captures "La bohème’s" mixture of comedy, romance and tragedy, with striking designs by Stewart Laing. The cast features some of the greatest interpreters of Puccini’s bohemian lovers performing today, as well as former members of The Royal Opera’s Jette Parker Young Artists Programme. This is a co-production with Teatro Real, Madrid and Lyric Opera of Chicago. Filmed during a live event, the Live Cinema Series broadcasts offer audiences an equivalent to the best seat in the house, with incredibly detailed close-ups of the performers. This screening has an approximate runtime of 2 hours 45 minutes, including one intermission. Beer, wine, popcorn, and snacks will be available for purchase, and may be taken into the theater. Reserved seating tickets ($15 Adults, $10 Students) are available online at www.phtww.com or by calling the box office at 509-529-6500. For group ticket sales, please call 509-876-1662.

Gesa Power House Theatre opera Live Cinema: "Fidelio" (Royal Opera)
Gesa Power House Theatre
$15 Adults; $10 Students
The Live Cinema Series continues at Gesa Power House Theatre with a screening of The Royal Opera’s current production of "Fidelio" on Wednesday, April 29 at 6:00 p.m. Beethoven’s only opera is a masterpiece, an uplifting story of risk and triumph. In this new production, conducted by Antonio Pappano, Jonas Kaufmann plays the political prisoner Florestan, and Lise Davidsen his wife Leonore (disguised as “Fidelio”) who daringly sets out to rescue him. The music is transcendent throughout and Tobias Kratzer’s new staging brings together the dark reality of the French Revolutionary “Terror” and our own time to illuminate "Fidelio’s" inspiring message of shared humanity. Filmed during a live event, the Live Cinema Series broadcasts offer audiences an equivalent to the best seat in the house, with incredibly detailed close-ups of the performers. This screening has an approximate runtime of 3 hours.

"America’s Got Talent" Semi-Finalists We Three return to Walla Walla to perform at Gesa Power House Theatre on Saturday, May 2 at 7:00 p.m. We Three (siblings Joshua, Bethany and Manny) warmed hearts with their unforgettable 2018 “America’s Got Talent” audition in which they poured all their emotions into an original song, which they dedicated to their late mother, who passed away after a battle with cancer. They finished the season as semi-finalists and have since released their self-titled debut album. Joshua uniquely plays the Piano and Drums – sometimes simultaneously, Manny the Guitar, and Bethany the Bass. But there are no rules as each can adeptly swap instruments and often sound like a much larger ensemble. A strong lead vocal is complemented by lush harmonies that glide with superlative ease over complex arrangements that appear deliciously simple. We Three’s original songwriting style is positive and purposeful, with smart lyrics and infectious melodies. Reserved seating tickets ($40) are available online at www.phtww.com or by calling the box office at 509-529-6500. For group ticket sales, please call 509-876-1662.
