Gesa Power House Theatre country Farewell Angelina
Gesa Power House Theatre
Gesa Power House Theatre presents country group Farewell Angelina in concert on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. Named after a haunting Bob Dylan song, Farewell Angelina features four powerful female vocalists, dynamic songwriters and accomplished multi-instrumentalists. Their stellar blend of heart-stopping harmonies over blazing double violins and guitars has earned soaring praise across the board. Roughstock calls Farewell Angelina a "Superstar Act... with Killer Songs." Rolling Stone says, "Wickedly smart songwriting delivered with a healthy dash of sass... deft playing... into one sonic knockout punch." Since last performing in Walla Walla, Farewell Angelina has released their first album, "Women and Wine," and their music video for the single "Ghosts" was #1 on the CMT 12Pack Countdown for five weeks, and in the top three spots for eight weeks. A band of longtime friends, Nicole Witt, Andrea Young, Lisa Torres, and Ashley Gearing all met pursuing their dreams in Nashville, Tennessee. Each deeply respected and admired one another while they were building successful solo careers, touring and recording with top artists, and writing songs for some of Country Music's biggest hitmakers. Reserved seating tickets ($45) are available online or by calling the box office at 509-529-6500. For group ticket sales, please call 509-876-1662.

Gesa Power House Theatre traditional Celtic The High Kings
Gesa Power House Theatre
Irish folk band The High Kings will perform at Gesa Power House Theatre in Walla Walla on Friday, March 27, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. The High Kings are Finbarr Clancy, Darren Holden, Brian Dunphy and newest member Paul O’ Brien. The band formed in 2007 when Brian, Darren, Finbarr and former member Martin Furey were asked to join a brand new Irish ballad group by David Kavanagh after he had noticed a gap in the market for a band specializing in traditional Irish music. It didn’t take long during their first studio rehearsal for them to realize that the way their individual voices blended together, they were onto something special. The High Kings play 13 instruments between them creating the unique sound and atmosphere that they still showcase to this day. Their self-titled debut album reached number two on the Billboard World Music chart, and in 2009, The High Kings played five consecutive sold out shows in Dublin’s Olympia Theatre and licensed their second studio album "Memory Lane" to Universal Music Ireland - signifying the fast trajectory that the band had taken in their short lifespan. "Memory Lane" went platinum only four months after its release. Over the past 12 years The High Kings have toured frequently, and released four studio albums, two live albums and two DVDs. In 2017, they released a compilation album "Decade" which celebrated 10 amazingly successful years together and also included five brand new recordings. In 2012 they performed for President Obama in Moneygall, this led to a personal invitation from the president to perform at the 2012 White House St. Patrick’s Day celebration. They flew directly from London where they had already been the headline act for the Lord Mayor of London’s St. Patrick’s Day concert. In 2015 The High Kings were invited to the Pentagon as guests of General Martin Dempsey, who is the Chairman of the The Joint Chiefs of Staff. They performed alongside the US Marine Corps band marking another special occasion for the band. The High Kings set the bar extremely high for Irish Folk bands across the world and are widely regarded to be at the forefront of the genre. The High Kings continue to perform to sold out venues across the globe to their ever-growing army of loyal fans that span generations. Reserved seating tickets ($40-$35) are available online or by calling the box office at 509-529-6500. For group ticket sales, please call 509-876-1662.

Gesa Power House Theatre opera Live Cinema: "La boheme" (Royal Opera)
Gesa Power House Theatre
$15 Adults; $10 Students
The Live Cinema Series continues at Gesa Power House Theatre with a screening of The Royal Opera’s current production of "La bohème" on Wednesday, April 1 at 6:00 p.m. Puccini’s opera of young love in 19th-century Paris is packed with beautiful music, including lyrical arias, celebratory choruses for Act II’s evocation of Christmas Eve in the Latin Quarter and a poignant final scene over which the composer himself wept. Richard Jones’s character-led production perfectly captures "La bohème’s" mixture of comedy, romance and tragedy, with striking designs by Stewart Laing. The cast features some of the greatest interpreters of Puccini’s bohemian lovers performing today, as well as former members of The Royal Opera’s Jette Parker Young Artists Programme. This is a co-production with Teatro Real, Madrid and Lyric Opera of Chicago. Filmed during a live event, the Live Cinema Series broadcasts offer audiences an equivalent to the best seat in the house, with incredibly detailed close-ups of the performers. This screening has an approximate runtime of 2 hours 45 minutes, including one intermission. Beer, wine, popcorn, and snacks will be available for purchase, and may be taken into the theater. Reserved seating tickets ($15 Adults, $10 Students) are available online at www.phtww.com or by calling the box office at 509-529-6500. For group ticket sales, please call 509-876-1662.
